
Digital Business Skills Training
The Digital Business Skills programme was developed by Tracy Duggan (whilst working for People 1st) in partnership with the Association & Town and City Centre Management (ATCM). It is a suite of training modules developed specifically to help small businesses maximise from the benefits of being online. It does this by developing their skills in social media, email marketing, how to get the most from Google and many other topics.
It is unique in that it really aims to tackle the main barriers which many small businesses face – confidence. The programme provides small business owners with the knowledge they need in order to take the next steps.
In addition to being licensed to deliver the national programme we are also able to develop programmes which meet specific needs of your business, location or sector.

Module 1 – Understanding your Customer and Digital Marketing
- Explains the importance of understanding you customer and their lifetime value
- Gives you the tools to develop a simple digital strategy which builds customer loyalty
- Describes the different digital marketing channels and explains how to use them
By the end of the session you will be able to clearly explain your digital strategy and develop a marketing plan for your business. This module is the foundation to the Digital Business Skills programme.
Module 2 – Develop your Business Online
- Why it isn’t optional anymore for businesses to not have a web presence and demystify what you need to do get online
- Find out about e-commerce and multi-channel options and the benefits they bring
- Explore how you can get online via third parties such as eBay and Amazon.
By the end of the session you will know what makes a good website, website checklist, launch timetable and online business countdown and a step by step guide to setting up an Ebay shop and know how to choose a website provider.
Module 3 – Grow your Business through Social Media
- Find out how to select the most appropriate social media channels for your business
- Know how to use social media to drive footfall by developing rich content which maximises Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and develop a social media strategy which is right for your business
- Understand the future and power of social media and to maximise this for your business.
By the end of the session you will know how maximise from the main social media channels to promote and grow you business.
