What is coaching?

Coaching helps to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather than the past. Coaching helps to unlock potential which then helps to maximise performance. It is a process which supports individuals, leaders and teams to learn rather than teach. It is generally more effective than training as it focuses on changing behaviours.

Trained by Barefoot Coaching, Tracy is currently working towards the ICF Accreditation to ACC level and PG Certificate with Chester University. ICF key competencies are followed in all our coaching interventions.

The coaching programme steps:

1 Build the relationship  Includes: chemistry and discovery; objectives and goals; confidentiality; agree logistics and timeframe.

4 Evaluation and next steps  Includes: review of actions and objectives; ROI assessment; celebration of achievements; next steps.

2 Coaching sessions  Includes: check-in and follow-up; setting goals; coaching on goals; establishing accountability, can include face-to-face and virtual sessions.

3 Between sessions  Includes: individual work such as trying new approaches; reflections; outcomes and progress towards goals.

Individual/life coaching

Life coaching can vary depending on your specific goals. It encourages you to focus on areas in your life which need attention. This could be professional or personal. Life coaching can help you to identify any limiting beliefs and any other potential obstacles you face. It helps you to identify a way forward and achieve specific outcomes.

Executive and leadership coaching

Executive and leadership coaching is a tailored approach to developing managers and senior leaders.  Coaching helps to identify competencies, strengths and any areas for improvement. It also helps to ascertain and clarify goals, and as with life coaching sets a course of positive action. It supports leaders and managers to be the best they can be.

Organisation and group/team coaching

Given the changing face of organisations and teams, there has never been a better time to introduce a coaching culture for your business. Organisation and team coaching can help teams to work more cohesively.  It encourages high performance by clarifying purpose; identifying and addressing gaps, and fostering a culture of engagement and mutual support.

So, having worked with Tracy, I’ve been able to identify the barriers getting in the way of me achieving both my personal and professional goals. It’s helped clear my mind of what I need to do in order to achieve them. I’ve been able to clearly identify that I spend very little time on anything for myself, whether that be on a professional or a personal level. My greatest insight I guess is that quite quickly I’ve been able to put measures in place that allow me to achieve my short, medium and long-term goals.
